This Sunday, the lighting of decorations in 39 public places in the Panama district will take place
Starting next Sunday, December 3, the capital city will feel the magic of Christmas with the official lighting of decorations for this festive season. A total of 39 parks, squares, and public spaces will be illuminated in the 26 corregimientos of the capital district for family enjoyment.
These spaces will also provide an opportunity for more than 450 microentrepreneurs to offer their products and services to attendees. The activity aims to encourage economic reactivation with a positive impact on companies and businesses. It was mentioned that among the small businesses, consideration will be given to those who have not registered for the respective permits for national holidays and, due to the cancellation of activities, have been unable to generate income.
The lighting event will run until January 7, 2024.
Another activity planned by the Panama City Municipality is the Christmas parade, which, under the theme “Illuminate your heart and dream with joy,” will take place on Sunday, December 17, at the Cinta Costera.
A total of 12 allegorical floats, 25 delegations, and 2,500 dancers, accompanied by renowned musical bands from the country, will depart from the Mercado de Mariscos premises at 4:30 p.m. to cover a 2.5-kilometer route to Parque de la Democracia.
The event will include a drone show and fireworks. Transparent financing. The Municipality of Panama will invest $5.9 million in Christmas activities. Of this amount, $3.2 million is allocated for lighting, while $2.7 million is earmarked for the Christmas parade. Regarding the development of the activity, the capital’s Municipality assured that the financing will be transparent.
