The Pro-Road Association to San Carlos confirmed the start of construction on the road linking the central section of the new route to San Carlos with the national road 141 on August 22. This project, known as Alto Sucre, will span 7 kilometers, connecting the community of Sucre with the central part of the new route.

While the central section’s construction had been paused since August 2018 by the Alvarado Quesada Administration, the connecting section to the Alto Sucre route is now operational. The Constructora Santa Fe company secured the project for $12 million, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). However, the initiation faced delays due to complications in hiring a supervisory company, with the task eventually granted to the Spain-based company, Cemosa.

The new infrastructure, comprising parts of routes 700 and 35, aims to alleviate traffic in Ciudad Quesada’s center and improve accessibility for Ron Ron’s residents.
