Previous competitions have been held in Europe seven times and once in Asia, but this year, the streets of Santa Clara de San Carlos will be the stage for over 200 cyclists from 30 countries. The event will take place from May 29th to June 2nd at the Costa Rica Institute of Technology, Santa Clara campus, and surrounding areas.
The country will have a team consisting of 21 students from 12 public and private universities, as announced by the Costa Rican University Sports Federation.
“Last year, I had the opportunity to attend the Road Cycling World Championship in Glasgow, Scotland. I represented Costa Rica, and it was an incredible experience to be surrounded by the world’s best cyclists. This time, I have no doubt that we will also see very high-level riders, considering the presence of important countries in cycling,” said 22-year-old José Ricardo Aguilar Garita, a student at ULACIT and national team member.
