“They haven’t taught classes, up to today, it’s been seven weeks of lost classes because the roofs of the classrooms collapsed and classes cannot be held there,” said Felicia Montezuma, a mother.
On the other hand, the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday, pointed out that they have already taken a step in the right direction towards the allocation and transportation of materials to the region.
Parents and educators in this hard-to-reach area threaten to close the Inter-American Highway and are still waiting for a clear schedule to be established so that this project can be implemented and these schools, which have been closed for months, can be delivered.
As a result of this meeting, leaders signed an agreement with the Minister of Education establishing a roadmap to continue discussing educational issues.
