LOS SANTOS/Personnel from the National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (Idaan) in the province of Los Santos are currently repairing a 20-inch pipeline that carries raw water to the Rufina Alfaro potabilization plant.
Due to these works, a large part of the province, mainly in districts such as Las Tablas, Guararé, and Los Santos, remains without drinking water.
Emedardo Mendieta, provincial director of Idaan, stated that the impact due to the lack of electrical supply is widespread, as the plant had to stop its operations in order to repair the damage to the pipeline that carries water directly from the river to the plant.
The Idaan regional office in Herrera provided water to tanker trucks in Los Santos in support, to prevent shortages in hospitals, educational centers, prisons, and other sensitive points in Los Santos.
