Actions were announced a few days before an increase in visitor flow in the area due to vacations
A comprehensive plan comprising several operational actions within a public-private partnership framework aims to minimize complications for drivers traveling to areas near the Friendship Bridge in Guanacaste, which will remain closed for three months for maintenance and repair works.
And indeed, this province is projected to have one of the highest hotel occupancy rates, just days before the start of Holy Week and with it an increase in the number of national and foreign visitors.
The plan includes measures such as increasing ferry trips, changes in bus transportation, and improvements in road infrastructure to facilitate detours and alternative routes, as well as collaboration with public transportation companies and shipping companies.
On the other hand, adjustments will be made to traffic light systems and road changes in Liberia to improve traffic flow on alternative routes, as well as the provision of alternative routes for light vehicles and small trucks, coupled with increased traffic police presence to maintain traffic control and reduce congestion.
